Sitting at the edge of the Boardman Lake, I notice three boys ride up to the dock on their bikes. Intent on an afternoon swim, they peeled down to their boxers, summoned up their courage and jumped in. I can still hear their shrieks as they hit the icy cold water. When they had had all the “fun” they could stand, they scrambled back on the dock and began to shiver themselves warm in the afternoon sun.
